Vehicle and MOT history check
Every MOT records the odometer and every advisory the tester wrote. That makes the test history the best free evidence there is of how hard a vehicle has worked and what it is about to need. This reads the record and tells you both.
No account is required. The registration you enter is sent to our server and passed to the DVSA MOT history service and, where available, the DVLA vehicle enquiry service, so that the records can be retrieved. Wentworth Ridge does not save it, add it to an account or keep it once the result is returned, although our hosting provider's standard server logs may record technical details of the request. This tool is general information for operational use, not legal, financial or roadworthiness advice, and it cannot tell you the condition of a vehicle today: only what was recorded at its tests.
What this is useful for
Before buying a used van, the mileage pattern and the repeated advisories say more than the advert does. Before taking on a subcontractor's vehicle, the MOT expiry and the failure record are a reasonable part of onboarding. And when costing a vehicle you already run, the record knows its real annual mileage, which is the figure most fleet calculations guess at.
Coverage is cars, motorcycles and vans in Great Britain from 2005 and Northern Ireland from 2017, and heavier vehicles, trailers, buses and coaches from 2018 in Great Britain and 2017 in Northern Ireland.
