Who we are
Wentworth Ridge Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 12060722. Our registered office is 61 Crescent Road, London, England, E6 1EB.
Wentworth Ridge Ltd is the controller of personal information collected through this website. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under reference ZC196519.
You can contact us about privacy, your information rights or a data protection complaint at hello@wentworthridge.co.uk or by writing to our registered office.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how we use personal information submitted through our operations, advisory, partnership, driver-interest and general enquiry forms, and information processed when you create an optional account for our online tools.
Where a separate company operates a venture referred to on this website, that company may provide its own privacy information before it collects or receives personal information.
Information we collect
Depending on the form you use, we may collect:
- your name, email address and, on some forms, telephone number;
- the organisation you represent and your role;
- location, business requirements and operational information;
- information contained in your enquiry or free-text responses;
- for driver-interest registrations, information about your licence type, experience, availability and work preferences; and
- limited technical and security information generated when you use the website, such as IP address, browser information and security logs, where collected by our hosting or security systems; and
- if you create a tool account, your email address and the content you choose to save, such as calculator scenarios, invoice details and numbering, penalty records and prepared letters, together with any optional profile details you choose to add (name, business name, role, phone number and the first part of your postcode). Optional details can be edited or removed at any time, and a phone number you add is used only where a feature or your own request needs it, never for marketing. Accounts use email sign-in links, so we do not collect or store passwords.
Fields marked as required are needed so that we can assess and respond to the enquiry. If you do not provide them, we may be unable to respond or progress your request.
Please do not submit passports, driving-licence images, right-to-work documents, criminal-record information, medical information or other special-category information through the website forms. We will request any information needed for a later onboarding or verification process separately and under an appropriate privacy notice.
Why we use your information
We use personal information for the following purposes and lawful bases:
| Form or activity | Purpose | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Operations and advisory enquiries | To assess and respond to requests for services and discuss a possible engagement | Legitimate interests where you act for an organisation. Steps requested before entering a contract where you are the individual or sole trader who may contract with us |
| Partnership enquiries | To assess a proposed commercial relationship and communicate with the relevant representatives | Legitimate interests. Pre-contract steps may apply where the proposed contract would be directly with the individual |
| General enquiries | To understand and respond to the enquiry and maintain appropriate business records | Legitimate interests |
| Driver-interest registrations | To assess your interest and suitability for relevant opportunities and communicate with you about the registration | Steps requested before entering a contract, where Wentworth Ridge would be the party contracting with you and a specific engagement is being progressed. Where we hold your registration in our opportunity pool for future openings, we rely on legitimate interests, and you may object at any time |
| Tool accounts | To provide the optional account service: signing you in and storing the content you choose to save so you can return to it | Performance of a contract: the processing is necessary to provide the account service you request. The service is free and you can delete the account, and everything in it, at any time |
| Legal, security and complaint handling | To establish or defend legal claims, protect our systems, handle data protection complaints and comply with legal obligations | Legitimate interests and, where applicable, legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, our interests are responding to business communications, assessing potential engagements and partnerships, maintaining an appropriately limited opportunity pool, protecting our systems and keeping proportionate records. We consider the nature of the information, the reason you supplied it and the effect of the processing on your rights.
We will not use an enquiry to send unrelated promotional communications. Communications we send you will relate to the enquiry or registration you submitted.
Who receives your information
Access is limited to people who need the information to handle the enquiry or administer the website.
We use service providers including:
- Vercel, Inc., which provides website hosting and related infrastructure; and
- Plus Five Five, Inc., trading as Resend, which provides email-delivery services; and
- Supabase, Inc., which provides the database and authentication service for tool accounts. Account data is hosted in the European Economic Area (Ireland).
They process information under contractual obligations.
We do not disclose driver-interest registrations or other enquiry information to clients, to IAM-VETTED LTD or to any other venture. If that ever becomes relevant to your enquiry, for example where a partnership enquiry concerns a venture operated by a separate company, we will tell you and proceed only with your agreement.
We may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where reasonably necessary or legally required.
We do not sell personal information.
International transfers
Some service providers and their subprocessors are located outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States.
Where we make a restricted transfer, we first determine whether UK data protection law applies, whether we initiate a transfer outside the UK, and whether the recipient is a separate legal entity.
Where available, we may rely on UK adequacy regulations, including the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, after confirming that the recipient has an active certification covering the relevant type of information. Where adequacy does not apply, we use an approved safeguard such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum and carry out any required transfer risk assessment and supplementary measures.
You may contact us for further information about the safeguard used for a particular transfer.
How long we keep information
We retain:
- operations, advisory and partnership enquiries for up to 24 months from closure of the enquiry or the last meaningful contact;
- general enquiries for up to 12 months from closure or the last meaningful contact; and
- driver-interest registrations for up to 12 months from the last meaningful contact where the registration does not proceed to onboarding; and
- tool account data for as long as the account remains open. Deleting the account deletes the account record and everything saved in it. We also delete accounts that have not been signed in to for 24 months, after emailing a warning.
If a driver registration proceeds to onboarding, relevant information will be handled under the privacy information applicable to that engagement.
We may retain limited information for longer where reasonably necessary to establish or defend a legal claim, comply with law, record an objection or demonstrate how we handled a complaint. Backup copies are deleted or overwritten in accordance with our backup cycle.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you may have rights to:
- access your personal information;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request erasure or restriction;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests; and
- receive information you provided in a portable format where the right to portability applies.
To exercise a right, contact hello@wentworthridge.co.uk. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity.
Data protection complaints
You have the right to complain directly to Wentworth Ridge if you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with data protection law.
You can complain using the email or postal address above. You do not need to quote legislation or use a particular form. We will acknowledge receipt within 30 days, investigate without undue delay, keep you appropriately informed and explain the outcome.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, or its successor regulator. You do not have to wait for our investigation to finish before contacting the regulator.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about website enquiries or driver registrations solely by automated means where the decision would have a legal or similarly significant effect.
If this changes, we will explain the processing and provide an effective way to challenge the decision and request human review.
Children
This website is intended for business users and people who meet the eligibility requirements for the opportunities described.
The minimum age for driver-interest registrations is 18. We do not knowingly invite anyone under that age to submit a registration. If we discover that information has been submitted contrary to this requirement, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We review this policy when our website, services, providers or legal obligations change. The date above shows when it was last updated.
